    Professional Women in Building is a diverse network of home building industry professionals representing the entire spectrum of work in residential construction. For more than 60 years, members have made meaningful strides to build a more diverse workforce, mentor the next generation of female building professionals, and bring awareness to the important role women serve in the residential construction industry.

  • 1. Join an NAHB PWB Subcommittee
    Join an NAHB PWB subcommittee for an opportunity to exchange ideas and develop policies and resources that benefit PWB members. Subcommittees include Communications and Education; Legislative; Membership; and Awards and Recognition. Each subcommittee has regular calls throughout the year and meets in person at the International Builders' Show and the Spring and Fall leadership meetings.     2. Earn Scholarships for Students in Your Community
    Local councils and individuals members are encouraged to participate in the annual Council and Leadership Awards competition. Recognition and monetary awards are presented for outstanding legislative programs and outstanding community service. Individual Leadership Awards honor the Council's Woman of the Year, Member of the Year, PWB Executive Officer of the Year, and PWB One to Watch. Monetary awards are distributed to winning councils through the Building Hope Scholarship fund with support from sponsors and members. For more information visit

    3. Apply for a Continuing Education Grant
    Another category of the annual Council and Leadership Awards competition is the Woman of the Future Education Grant. Members are eligible to apply for reimbursement of up to $500 for taking building-related courses, including NAHB designation programs. To apply, visit http://nahb.org/pwbawards
