• Transitions in Leadership at the HBAGNO

The Board of Directors of the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans writes to announce that we have received and accepted Chief Executive Officer Jon Luther’s letter of resignation beginning October 1, 2020.

We would like to express our deep gratitude to Jon for his 15 years of service to our nearly 1,000 members in the residential construction industry. Within one week of beginning his position, Jon was immediately faced with the impacts and aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He led the HBAGNO and our region through the rebuilding process, while we were navigating one of the worst natural disasters in American history.

Following this work, he led the charge against numerous attacks on home ownership in the Greater New Orleans area. Another one of his hallmarks includes designing and fostering the New Orleans Education League (NOEL), a nonprofit that provides cutting edge information, comprehensive education, research, and charitable offerings and services to the local home building industry. Additionally, Jon's work with the nationally recognized Home Builders Institute (HBI) has introduced many new faces to the industry, helping to fill the gaping skilled labor shortage.

One of his crowning achievements, Jon was recognized by the National Association of Home Builders as the nation's top executive officer in 2011. We wish Jon success in his future endeavors, and we appreciate the 15 years he has dedicated to the members in Louisiana and nationwide.

    Sincerely,

    HBAGNO Board of Directors
