Green Building Appraisals Class
Fair appraisals are critical to ensuring homes are valued at the right price based on the location, design and features. Green building and energy-efficient features can be tricky to value appropriately if the appraiser is not adequately equipped with the proper knowledge and tools to understand these components and how they impact the value of a home.
This program aims to increase awareness of energy-efficient and green programs, and products available to not only appraisers, but builders, real estate agents, lenders and home buyers in our area. A cross segmentation among industry professionals allows for a better understanding of the decisions and roles of each stakeholder in the process.
The event will kick-off in October with a Stakeholder Meeting facilitated by Adomatis, where key lenders, real estate agents, builders, and appraisers from the Greater New Orleans area will discuss the appraised value process for green and energy efficient homes.
Taking what we learned from the stakeholder meeting, Adomatis will teach two education seminars that will increase your green and energy efficient home knowledge and review the proactive role an appraiser can take to ensure a fair appraisal with the Appraisal Institute’s Residential Green and Energy Efficiency Addendum. These sessions offer participants the opportunity to discuss complex issues you face every day with home valuation and provides an opportunity to strengthen your relationships with builders and lenders in the Greater New Orleans Area.
