Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans offers many educational courses throughout the year.
The 4 main classes offered are:
- Continuing Education (CE) - 1-6 hour classes for licensed contractors seeking to fulfill state licensing board requirements.
- Professional Designation (PD)
- Certified Renovator Training (RRP) - Required by EPA Lead and RRP Rule for contractors doing renovation work on pre-1978 housing.
- Multi-Family (MFC)

2021 IRC Transition from the 2015 IRC
This seminar will assist participants in implementing the transition from the 2015 IRC to the 2021 IRC. It will include relevant changes in the 2018 IRC. This interactive training will focus on the key changes presented in the participant material. Knowledge review questions will provide opportunity for participants to discuss and consider the changes.
During this training, participants will be listening to lectures and engaging in class discussions and exercises.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to better use the 2021 IRC, allowing them to apply its code requirements to design, plan review, and/or inspection of building.

All payments are due prior to class.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of class will not be refunded, with the exception of professional designation classes, where at least 1-week notice is required.
No-shows will be billed for any education class. Note: This may vary with different classes, depending on the arrangements with the instructor.
Professional Designation classes:
HBA members who have completed an NAHB Professional Designation course may retake that course as a “refresher” for a fee of $100. These registrants will NOT receive a copy of the course material.
